““Wonder Woman” is turning 75 this year and a host of events are lined up to mark the celebrations. One of the celebrations being of course “Wonder Woman” movie going solo in 2017. The iconic figure stole the show in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
DC Entertainment is leaving no stone unturned to celebrate 75 years of DC Comic “Wonder Woman” which was conceptualized in 1941. The official celebrations start on June 15. The unveiling of the celebrations would be with a new memorial “Wonder Woman” logo. There will also be a life-size model of the heroine’s invisible plane at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July, reported People.
DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson said that it is the perfect time for “Wonder Woman” to be celebrated. Nelson adds that it is important to have stronger gender equality representation in media and in government, and in education. DC Entertainment will also release a new “Wonder Woman” comic series in June as part of its title-wide “Rebirth” launch. The comic will don a new Wonder Woman look that echoes Gal Gadot’s warrior-themed costume that was seen in “Batman v Superman.”
The celebrations don’t stop there- DC and Mattel will be releasing a special-edition Barbie with gold-lamé-festooned cape.
