“Back in June of 2015, VIBE Viva reported that Marvel was officially welcoming a biracial version of the iconic Spider-Man to its comic book universe. Today, the teen son of an African-American father and Puerto Rican mother, Miles Morales, gets his grand debut in the newest issue of SPIDER-MAN.
“When we first peeled back Spider-Man’s iconic mask to reveal the face of an African-American/Hispanic kid named Miles Morales, it sent a seismic shock throughout comics and the outside world,” tells us Marvel’s Editor in Chief, Axel Alonso. “A few years later, Miles is but one face in a diverse landscape of heroes that includes Khamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Sam Wilson (Captain America) and Amadeus Cho (the Hulk), and offers readers of all creeds and colors a chance to see their own reflection.”
Now a full-fledged member of the Marvel Universe, Miles Morales is back fighting evil alongside The Invincible Iron Man, The Mighty Thor and the All-New Captain America. But it’s not all fun and games for the Big Apple’s main man. See what all happened in the eight-month gap inside SPIDER-MAN #1!
